The non-profit-organization HochDrei e.V. was established in 1998 with the aim to build up an educational institution for the informal education of youth and young adults in Potsdam and Brandenburg. To this end a more than 250 year old house was rented in the historic Dutch quarter of Potsdam, which was altered and renovated with strong commitment.House Hochlland (a play on the words HochDrei and Holland) was opened in January 1999 and has been the centre of our educational work ever since.
In September 2002, HochDrei opened a second house on the same square in Potsdam to follow aims in accordance with the statutes: promotion of educational work for young people and adults, with special focus on ecology, culture, internationality regional development, history and politics.
Our present main fields of activity are:
Since 2001 our association is host organisation for European volunteers, furthermore we participate in other programmes of Youth for Europe.
Other items are qualifying measures for honorary mentors and professional instructors for volunteers. We place emphasis on promotion of the encouragement of former volunteers and the sustainability of the volunteer service.
In our work, we include partner initiatives in Potsdam and surroundings. Furthermore we have been working bindingly and successfully with cooperation partners throughout Germany and in foreign countries for several years now.
Both seminar centers "HOCHLLAND" and "Am BASSIN" are open for seminar groups from Germany and abroad that want to hold a meeting in the capital of Brandenburg, with a restricted budget.

Since 2003 we have been official institution of the Youth Welfare Service and "Zentralstelle" of the Deutsch-Polnisches Jugendwerk.
